What they mean together
The Empress is fertile ground and The Sun is the light that makes it grow. Together they multiply the good. Joy, health and good news, often from family or children.
In love
A happy stretch as a couple. A very good sign if you want to start a family.
Career and money
Projects that grow and show visible results. Your work gets recognized.
An example
Imagine you ask about a creative project, like opening a small studio, and The Empress and The Sun come up. You could hardly ask for a better answer. What you're starting is alive, it grows, and people can see it. Show your work without hiding and have fun doing it. If the question was about family, it brings joy and a good atmosphere at home.
By position in the spread
In the past
There was a happy time, maybe in childhood or during a very creative period. That memory gives you strength, and you can go back to it.
In the present
You're in a bright season where things are flourishing. Make the most of it to create, share and celebrate.
In the future
Good news, growth and joy, often tied to family or a project of your own. What you're tending now will bear visible fruit.
If they come up reversed
With The Sun reversed, the joy arrives dimmer or a little late. If The Empress is upside down, you lack the strength to care for what's growing, or you pour so much into others that you forget yourself. With both reversed the good is still there, though it asks for more patience and less pressure on yourself.
Enjoy what's going well without looking for flaws.
